This album started out as an experiment to see how I experimental I could be, which is mainly evidenced at this point by "Playing By Request" and "Black Helmet". Somewhere along the line, it became a sort of dischordianist scream, a gleeful mess of reused presets, repeated stock samples of drum hits, and shameless ripoffs of other, better songs.

Oddly, the meaning behind the songs evolved in the opposite way. The aforementioned "Playing By Request", the first song to be completed, means absolutely nothing, other than perhaps 'Dave A made a joke on his tumblr and now lookit im doin the joke! laugh!'. As work continued, the songs became more and more personal, until some had to be kept off the album because they'd require vocals, and that's what other projects are for.

So, sitting here with the finished album playing in my ears, I suppose it's true enough that this album is almost primal in its emotiveness, using the most basic of tools to tell stories of a dead girl in New Zealand, a lovely vacation in the Dominican Republic, a night listening to Human After All on repeat, and so forth, all from the mind of a 16-year-old that once cried at a piece of Twitch Plays Pokemon fanart.
